Denver Airport reveals public dashboard for the Great Hall Project

Denver International Airport stays true to its word regarding a promise of transparency as the Great Hall Project moves forward.

The dashboard provides transparency into the status, progress and budget of the project.

“When DEN regained control of the project late 2019, we made a commitment to focus on the transparency of the project through a dashboard that is accessible through our website,” said DEN CEO, Kim Day. “With significant work now underway on phase I of the project, we are excited to launch the dashboard and share our progress with the community.”

This dashboard focuses on five main categories for phase I and displays each goal, the current status and whether DEN and its contractor are meeting the goals and milestones set. The five categories include:

  • The overall schedule and key milestones
  • Ticket pod steel completion: All the structural steel for ticketing pods are delivered, installed and completed
  • Central monitoring facility: The new area where TSA resolves checked baggage screening is completed
  • Ticket pod completion: The new ticketing pods are complete and ready for airline use
  • Commissioning: Verifying that the building’s systems operate as intended
  • Substantial Completion: The majority of the scope of phase I work is complete and the space can be occupied by the airlines
  • Construction cost
  • MWBE (Minority/Women-owned Business Enterprises) participation
  • Workforce programme
  • Safety performance.

Phase I of the Great Hall Project restarted construction in March 2020 with new general contractors Hensel Phelps and is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2021.

The dashboard is available on the Great Hall website and metrics will be updated monthly.
